prologue
After graduating with high honors from the University of Bombay India, I worked as an apprentice and associate of Mr. William Netter a well known philanthropist / interior designer who was associated with Sri Aurobindo Ashram India. Our firm Auroville Designs was named and blessed by the Divine Mother the creator of the city of Auroville in India. The firm Auroville Designs completed several acclaimed interior design projects in India. We designed every aspect of space including buildings, furniture, accessories and a set of educational toys in our spare time. This phase of my life was very inspiring, imaginative, and with intense creativity.
Since Mr. Netter decided to retire, I immigrated to USA in 1976 and started the second phase of my carrier with Gerard Nagar Associates Architects, Pittsburgh. During the next 25 years of my association with them I had the opportunity to work on a large portfolio of varied and exciting projects. Although I acted primarily as the chief designer of many projects I got the opportunity to learn the importance of constructability and cost limitations in projects .
Simultaneously I also started my life as an educator in 1983 at La Roche College/Interior Design Department in Pittsburgh. My years as a professor / educator and partner with Gerard Nagar Associates continued until 2005 when I felt the need to take my calling to another level of creativity. I started independent consulting and Auroville Designs was revived again with a mission to create meaningful beautiful project in the spirit of Auroville.
Listen, Meditate and Create is my calling. This website is meant for those who believe and want to explore creativity and creation of meaningful beautiful projects.
